The intertwined serpent is an old symbol with many meanings, in most ways it is a symbol of healing, also a symbol of fertility.
In kundalini it symbolises the relationship between the sun and moon, male and female, polar opposites coming together.
Most famously it is used by the pharmaceutical industry called the caduceus which was taken from Hermes, God of communication.
